Coloproctology
​Coloproctology is the specialty that treats pilonidal disease. It is the medical specialty dedicated to the study, diagnosis and clinical-surgical treatment of diseases of the colon (large intestine), rectum and anus. In addition to taking care of diseases, the coloproctologist/proctologist also prevents colorectal cancer, through colonoscopy, an exam that allows the diagnosis and treatment of precursor lesions (polyps).
